Overview of Position Types

Boards & Commissions
The City of Lynnwood has several Boards and Commissions. The Boards and Commissions were each created by City Ordinances to serve as advisory bodies to the city administration, the Mayor and the City Council. Most require that you must live within the Lynnwood City limits or Lynnwood's Municipal Urban Growth Area, and they generally meet once per month.

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts
There are several other ways to get involved at the City. The Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department has several opportunities that just might be a perfect fit!

Public Safety
Are you interested in helping out our public safety officers in keeping Lynnwood safe? If so, a volunteer opportunity with the Police Department or the Fire Department might be right for you.

Friends of the Library (always accepting new members)
The Friends of the Library is a volunteer group who have served on behalf of the Lynnwood Library for over 30 years to raise money supporting library programs, services, artwork and physical enhancements to the library. They play a vital role in meeting the community needs at Sno-Isle's largest and busiest branch library.

Community Service
If you are in need of court-ordered community service hours, please contact Eric Peterson, Parks Maintenance Superintendent at 425-670-5595.
