Sound Transit Lynnwood Link Light Rail
Sound Transit is working with Lynnwood to extend Link Light Rail service to the Lynnwood Transit Center by 2023 with construction anticipated to begin in 2018. Funding for the project was approved by voters in 2008. In July 2015, the Federal Transit Administration issued a Record of Decision on the project's Environmental Impact Statement and final design is in progress. Sound Transit and the City of Lynnwood are coordinating design development, agreements, and permitting for the project. Sign up for the Lynnwood Link extension email updates to receive information as it's available regarding project milestones, public open houses and opportunities to provide feedback.
Construction is currently underway to extend the light rail line from the University of Washington Station at Husky Stadium to Seattle's U District, Roosevelt and Northgate neighborhoods by 2021. The Lynnwood Link project covers the extension from Northgate to Lynnwood. Extensions to Bellevue and south of SeaTac are also underway.

We are pleased to report that the Preferred Alternative Alignment created a number of features that will be of great benefit to the future of the City. The track alignment was shifted north within the Transit Center offering a better connection to the bus bays. The station’s north escalators will drop down onto a new pedestrian plaza that extends out to the intersection of 200th St. SW and 44th Ave. W which will connect to a second plaza located on the east side of 44th Ave W. The track will now run along Alderwood Mall Blvd keeping the City block intact. Finally, the large parking garage will be located near the 44th Ave. W / I-5 on-ramp in a manner that decreases the visual impact of the large parking structure.
