SCD/Lynnwood Rain Garden Projects (2017-2021)

Project Description

The City of Lynnwood is partnering with the Snohomish Conservation District (SCD) to provide qualifying Lynnwood Residents the opportunity to install private rain gardens, rainwater beds, or rainwater harvesting systems at a subsidized rate. While some contribution will be required on behalf of qualifying homeowners to participate, the City of Lynnwood will be contributing labor, equipment and some limited funding to reduce the overall cost of the required homeowner contributions and incentivize Lynnwood residents to participate in the program.

The overarching goal of the project is to reduce surface water flows from impervious surfaces basin and help mitigate existing erosion and water quality issues. The City has entered into an Interlocal Agreement with SCD for projects through 2021.  The scope and size of each project will depend on secured grant funding.
