AMENDMENT OF OFFICIAL ZONING MAP REZONE OF PARCELS ZONED B-2 TO PRC AND AMENDMENTS TO THE

LYNNWOOD MUNICIPALCODE,

CHAPTERS 21.18, 21.40, 21.43, 21.46, 21.52,

21.54, 21.60 AND 21.61

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at:
Time:   7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 23, 2017
Place: Lynnwood Civic Center, Council Chambers at 19100 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA the Lynnwood Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at which the above-referenced Amendment of the Official Zoning Map and amendments to Lynnwood Municipal Code (LMC) Title 21 –Chapters 21.18 (Off-Street Parking), 21.40 (Use Zones and Zoning Map,), 21.43 (Residential Multiple-Family Zones), 21.46 (Commercial Zones), 21.54 (Commercial-Residential Zone), Chapter 21.60 (City Center Zones) and 21.62 (Highway 99 Mixed-Use Zone) and repeal of Chapter 21.52 (Mixed-Use/Business) will be considered.  The proposed rezone from B-2 (Limited Business) to PRC (Planned Regional Shopping Center) will be for parcels north of 188th Street SW between 33rd Avenue W and 36th Avenue W.  Any interested party may appear and give testimony at the above time and place. No new materials, testimony, or statements shall be considered after the date of this public hearing.

Project Description: Proposed text amendments to the Lynnwood Municipal Code (LMC):  Chapter 21.18 (Off-Street Parking) to delete references to the BC/B-1 and MU zones; to Chapter 21.40 (Use Zones and Zoning Map) to remove references to the B-1 and B-2 zones and rename the B-3 zone, NC; to Chapter 21.43 (Residential Multiple-Family Zones) to remove outdated language regarding to senior housing and assisted living facilities; to Chapter 21.46 (Commercial Zones) to remove the references to  B-2 under Purpose and the B-2 Zone in the Use tables, to remove self-service storage facilities as an allowed use in the PCD zone and to remove reference to the B-1 and B-2 Zones in the Minimum Standards table; to Chapter 21.54 (Commercial-Residential Zone) to change the reference from the B-1 Zone to the City Center Zones; to Chapter 21.60 (City Center Zones) to add prohibited uses and exceptions; and to Chapter 21.62 (Highway 99 Mixed Use Zone) to remove references to other code sections no longer applicable after previous B-1 and B-2 amendments. Chapter 21.52 (Mixed Use/Business Zone) is proposed to be repealed in its entirely. Also a rezone on specified parcels from B-2 to PRC.
