NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at: Time: 7:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2019 Place: Lynnwood Civic Center, Council Chambers at 19100 44th Ave W, Lynnwood, WA the Lynnwood City Council will conduct a public hearing at which the above-referenced project will be considered. Interested citizens are invited to attend this public hearing and to provide comments, either orally or in writing. Prior to the hearing, written comments may be submitted to the contact person listed below. City Council is the final decision maker on the proposed amendments.

Application and Project Description: Whispering Pines Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezone (CPL-006418-2018 / RZN-006419-2018) – Privately-initiated amendment by the Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO) for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezone to change the land use designation of the western 7.11 acres of the Whispering Pines Apartments property (approximately 59%) from Medium-Density Multi-Family (MF-2) to High-Density Multi-Family (MF-3).  A rezone is also proposed, requesting to change the zoning designation of the western 7.11 acres of the property (approximately 59%) on the City’s Official Zoning Map from Multiple Residential Medium Density (RMM) to Multiple Residential High Density (RMH).  No changes will be made to the remaining eastern portion of the property, which will remain MF-2 (land use) and RMM (zoning).  After the approval of the Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone, HASCO proposes to demolish the existing 50-year old Whispering Pines apartment complex and redevelop the site into new multi-family housing beginning in 2022.
