Shirley Sutton - Council Position #4

I have been a Lynnwood resident since 2001.  Appointed to the City Council in 2016, I just completed my first year of service.

It has been a great opportunity to serve the residents in the City of Lynnwood community in a more visual leadership role during my first year in office.

During 2016, Shirley was council liaison to the Alliance for Housing Affordability board, Human Services Commission, Lynnwood Public Facilities District and Historical Commission.  She along with her peers also supported many events like the 44th Street Fair; several City sponsored open houses, council meetings and diversity trainings.

In attending the Association of Washington Cities week in Olympia last year, I spoke to state representatives on issues that affected the City of Lynnwood neighborhoods and communities.

I currently serve on several community boards like League of Women Voters, United Way Snohomish, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council.

I enjoy meeting and corresponding with members of the community in person, via email or telephone.  My interest is to continue to support the quality of life that our citizens expect.

I am a graduate of Central Washington University and earned a degree in Law and Justice.  I attended Heritage University and earned a master degree in Community and Human resource development.
