All Are Welcome Initiative

All Are Welcome

"All Are Welcome" is the message that the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission along with the City of Lynnwood want our community members to hear loud and clear. Commissioners will be visiting local businesses, service providers and community gathering places and asking people to join in the effort to create a safe and welcoming city by displaying the "All Are Welcome" window decal in a visible location.

“The goal behind the decal is to unite our community; businesses, schools, places of worship, community gathering places, and city government," stated Jon Waters, Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commission. "The Lynnwood community has dealt with hate rearing its ugly head a few times in just the past few months. Our community is kinder and more loving than that, and these decals can serve as an invitation for folks to feel safe and supported in Lynnwood.”

This initiative is part of the City's larger commitment to being a safe, welcoming, and equitable city for all.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission is an advisory body who provides advice and recommendations to the city council, mayor, and city administration on ways to achieve Lynnwood's vision of being a welcoming city, recommending strategies for effective community engagement, addressing causes of inequities and lack of access, and serving as trusted messengers to the community at large.
