Lynndale Park Amphitheater Improvements Dedication

The re-opening and dedication of the Lynndale Park Amphitheater will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at 12:00 pm. The park is located at 18927 72nd Avenue West in Lynnwood. The dedication will recognize the funding partner for the amphitheater improvements, Snohomish County; design consultants, MacLeod Reckord; and the project contractor, Woodway Homes.

The Lynndale Park Amphitheater, built in 1969, hosts the City’s free cultural events including the popular Shakespeare in the Park performances. Improvements to the Amphitheater have been supported by the City Council, Lynnwood Arts Commission and Lynnwood Parks & Recreation Board. Work included general grading and construction of an asphalt pathway, and expanded pavement for accessible seating. Soil amendments, landscape plantings and a cabling system will help protect the natural beauty of the forested area. This project was funded in part, up to $70,000, by funds from Snohomish County with a match by the City of Lynnwood with the project cost totaling $86,000.

The 2014 Season of Shakespeare in the Park opens 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 16 with a performance of Julius Caesar by Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Wooden O.
