Lynnwood Meets and Greets to Help Fight Crime

NNOLYNNWOOD, WA (August 15, 2016) – Lynnwood Police Department along with the Lynnwood Fire Department, Mayor Nicola Smith, Council members, and staff from the City’s Public Works, Community Development, Planning, Parks and Recreation Departments, as well as the Emergency Services Coordinating Agency, all toured 30 different registered National Night Out against crime events on August 2. Dozens of City volunteers also contributed positive energy to these fun annual gatherings.

These 30 block-parties represented more than 1,500 people. Residents from all around Lynnwood joined the rest of America and turned their porch lights on, locked their doors and went out to meet their neighbors all in the name of crime prevention.

Projections this year called for the “33rd Annual National Night Out” to involve close to 39 million people worldwide in more than 16 thousand communities according to the National Association of Town Watch.

These community partners made this event in Lynnwood very successful:

  • Family Center of South Snohomish County
  • Target store
  • Lynnwood Police Officers Association
  • Ivars Restaurant
  • Lynnwood Bowl and Skate
  • Crime Stoppers

National Sponsors included: NextDoor, Associa, ADT Security, and Ring.
