Lynnwood Police Citizens Academy 2015 Graduates

CA2

Mayor Nicola Smith and Deputy Chief Bryan Stanifer stand alongside the 2015 Lynnwood Police Citizens Academy graduates as they pose for a photo in the Lynnwood Municipal Court.

The Lynnwood Police Department just finished its 24th Citizens Academy with more than 42 graduates. The annual 13-week free course familiarizes citizens with common police procedures, activities and investigative techniques. Although this course will not make police officers out of the public, those who attend learn a great deal about all phases of law enforcement.

A total of 21of these participants have continued on through the interview process to become volunteers of the LPD Citizens Patrol, VIPS (Volunteers in Public Safety), and the Explorers Post.
