Lynnwood Police Department Holds 2014 Citizens Academy Graduation

The Lynnwood Police Department just finished it 23rd Citizens Academy with more than 55 graduates. The annual 13-week free course familiarizes citizens with common police procedures, activities and investigative techniques. Although this course will not make police officers out of the public, those who attend learn a great deal about all phases of law enforcement.

A total of 20 of these participants have continued on through the interview process to become volunteers of the Citizens Patrol, VIPS (Volunteers in Public Safety), and the Explorers team.

To learn more about or sign up for the 2015 Citizens Academy which starts in January 2015 contact the Lynnwood Police Crime Prevention Office at 425-670-5639 or email ctenney@lynnwoodwa.gov.
