Amphitheater Renovation Completed!
Snohomish County awarded the City of Lynnwood a "Parks Projects Funding" grant to renovate the Lynndale Park Amphitheater. The City worked with Landscape Architects MacLeod Reckord and contractor Woodway Homes on the amphitheater's renovation. The project increased the seating capacity of the amphitheater, improved the stage lighting, provided a lighted ADA accessible entry pathway, added landscaping, and repaired existing damage to the environment. Heavy use over the years has caused erosion of the slopes and vegetation, exposing the tree roots and threatening the health of the tree canopy. Renovation repaired and revegetated this sensitive environment. Work was completed in time for the 2014 performance season. Shakespeare in the Park opens Wednesday, July 16.
This project was supported by the Lynnwood Parks and Recreation Board, Arts Commission, Diversity Commission, and the Lynnwood Parks and Recreation Foundation.
