If you need training to satisfy job requirement or you just want to know how to keep your loved ones safe, the City of Lynnwood offers American Red Cross courses taught by excellent instructors. We offer award-winning courses to ensure that you get the latest information, and quality instruction. The option to choose in-person courses, or take a blended Simulation Learning class that combines online learning with hands-on, in-person instruction, there's a class for the way you learn best. All of our courses align with OSHA’s best practices for workplace first aid training, offer online refreshers, have free digital participant manuals and digital certifications valid for two years after successful completion of the course.

Our American Red Cross classes are taught by professionals who can help you not only help others stay safe in, on and around the water, but can help you learn the latest safety and rescue techniques, and deliver critical care, like CPR, First aid and AED administration, when it’s needed most. Earn your certification to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety, and gain the skills needed to teach courses and make presentations to swimmers of every age and ability. Through our Water Safety Instructor training, you can help recreational swimmers meet their goals, refine their skills and stay safe in, on, and around water. This course trains instructor candidates to teach all of the courses presented in the Swimming and Water Safety program to all age groups; all of the courses listed above, plus Learn-to-Swim Levels 4-6 and Adult Swim. This certification is the gold standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors.

The premier certification program in swimming pool operations is the National Parks and Recreation Association Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification. The AFO program provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date training for pool operators and includes information on water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, operations, healthy pools and safety.
