Public Notice: 2020 Spring Herbicide Application Notice

On display until August 31, 2020, 11:59 PM

HERBICIDE APPLICATION NOTICE: As a part of its maintenance activities, one week following the release of this notice, the Public Works Department may apply the herbicide Weed Slayer (an organic herbicide utilizing Eugenol, an essential oil of clove) to control vegetation growth in cracks in the curb and gutter, extruded curb, expansion joints between the curb and sidewalk, and traffic islands.

All reasonable efforts will be made to apply the herbicide only to actively growing unwanted vegetation, will not be applied to bare areas as a preventative measure, and will not be applied if inclement weather is predicted. If there is no unwanted growth, there will be no spraying. All details about this operation can be found in our Vegetation Control Integrated Pest Management Plan web-page at: www.lynnwoodwa.gov/Government/Departments/Public-Works/Public-Works-Documents-Library

You have the right to request that herbicide application not occur in front of your home or property, and the City will honor your request. Please contact Derek Fada at dfada@LynnwoodWA.gov or 425-670-5242 to be put on this list. You will not need to renew your request annually, and we will keep your address on our “Do Not Spray” list as long as we continue this program.

THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT HAS NOT DESIGNATED ANY OTHER AREAS FOR HERBICIDE APPLICATION AT THIS TIME.
