About Ruth Ross

Ruth Ross has lived in Lynnwood since 1995, and her first job in Washington was working for the City of Lynnwood as a Code Compliance Officer from 1995 to 2001. In 2001, Ruth was elected to the City Council and served until 2009. Ruth returned to the council in January of 2014 for another 4-year term. Ruth was chosen by her fellow council members to the position of Council Vice President for three terms and Council President for one term. 

Ruth has served as the council liaison to the Planning Commission, the Historic Commission, the Arts Commission, the Public Facilities District, and the Parks & , Recreation Board. She has also served on various boards as the city liaison including Snocom 911 Dispatch Center and Snohomish County Tomorrow. Ruth is currently serving as council the liaison to the Arts Commission and the Human Services Commission. 

Ruth is a Certified Municipal Leader through the Association of Washington Cities. She has a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences. She has also written and self-published three novels. She is a proud Marine mom and grandmother to the sweetest girl in the world.
