Qualifications
To qualify for civil service testing to become a police officer, you must meet the following qualifications:
- United States Citizenship, or a lawful permanent resident
- Be at least 20 1/2 years old
- Pass a physical ability performance test
- Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

- Physical ability tests (PAT) - Pass or Fail Examination
- PST Written Exam - weighted 100%
- Top 20 placed on Eligibility List
- Criminal background check, psychological assessment, polygraph, and medical assessment
- Chief's and/or Command Interview
- Basic Law Enforcement Academy through Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission
