In 2014, the Verdant Health Commission awarded $1.9 million to the cities of Lynnwood, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace to complete the Bike2Health project.
The project components include:
- Complete various missing links of the community's bicycle network to create two north/south and east/west corridors. Connections Route Map(PDF, 264KB)
- Install bicycle warning and guide signs. Example Sign
- Conduct public education and outreach about bicycle safety, benefits, maps and routes
- Install bicycle parking at key destinations – completion anticipated in spring 2020
This project used various methods to add and connect ten new miles of bicycle network. The final portion of this project will be complete in spring 2020 with the installation of bicycle storage and service stations(PDF, 4MB) at transit locations, parks, and city centers.
The cities will continue to partner and promote educational opportunities, bicycle rodeos, and future projects.
