Seems to me that you spend a lot of money around the downtown (196th corridor area) than you do in the residential areas. What about the creek I have to stand over every time it rains just to check my mailbox? Can you come fix that? How come some neighborhoods have sidewalks and some don't? Or locking mailboxes. When are you going to spend some of that tax money I pay as a home owner in the residential areas? Thanks!

Question Submitted by Community Member on 5/21/2020: I’m wanting to know how to see the fiscal year budget for the current program. Per google there are 800,000 residential units in the city. $27+tax a month is $21 MILLION. Please /explain.

Answer provided by Ehsan Shirkhani, Project Manager: The stormwater utility rates are applied on an Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) basis where an ERU is 2,900 square feet of impervious surface area. Each Residential Single/Duplex Unit is 1 ERU and Residential Multiple/Commercial Industrial Site is assessed based on their square footage of impervious area divided by the ERU definition.
The rate is the same for all ERUs except for discount customers. The discount rates are tied to income ranging from 40% of the standard rate up to 50%. All rates are applied on a bi-monthly basis (every 2 months).
Based on our estimates, 2020 is projected to have approximately 26,527 ERUs, some of which are discounted. For a simplified calculation, the current bi-monthly rate is $27.03 for a 2 month period. Multiplying 26,527 by $27.03 by 6 billing cycles results in approximately $4,302,104 revenue. This is slightly higher than projected since some of the ERUs are under the discount rate category.
