The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission (DEIC) is an advisory commission of the City of Lynnwood made up of community members and appointed by City Council. Their duties include advising elected officials and staff on effective strategies for public engagement and removing barriers, building relationships with community, and creating partnerships with local organizations.

The DEI Commission consists of seven (7) members who are appointed to serve three (3) year terms. 

Commissioner Requirements:

  • Lynnwood Resident: At least five (5) of the DEI Commissioners must live within Lynnwood city limits. However, the Commission may accept up to two (2) members that reside in the city's municipal urban growth area.
  • Registered voter: Voter registration requirements may be waived for up to two (2) members of the Commission, provided that the individual was born in a country other than the United States of America and the individual is actively working towards obtaining citizenship.

 All Are Welcome is an initiative of the DEI Commission and is a part of the City's larger commitment to being a safe, welcoming, and equitable City for all. Please join us in the effort to create a safe and welcoming city by displaying an All Are Welcome decal at your business, community gathering place, and even your home!    The Community Engagement Sponsorship Program offers sponsorships up to $1,000 for local community events, projects or initiatives that support and promote efforts to increase engagement and outreach to Lynnwood’s diverse community. Projects should align with the City of Lynnwood Strategic Plan of being a diverse, welcoming, equitable, and livable city as well as the City's goal of pursuing and maintaining collaborative relationships with the community. This sponsorship program is administered by the City of Lynnwood’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission (DEIC).
