Lynnwood University is a fun and interactive 5-week course offered to residents free of charge. The goal of LU is to increase awareness about how your local government works and to empower you to better access City programs and services. Demonstrations, tours, lectures, and hands-on activities are presented to you by city staff, Council Members, and the Mayor.

Class Highlights Include:   

  • Presentations from Mayor Frizzell and the Lynnwood City Council
  • An overview of the Lynnwood Police Department and opportunity to meet a Police K-9
  • Tour our Traffic Management Center and get a closer look at how Public Works plays a key role in keeping our City running smoothly
  • Learn Information on City Center, Light Rail and other exciting developments
  • And much, much more! 

Classes will meet every Thursday from September 14th through October 12th from 6:30-9 p.m.

Week 1: City Government - Mayor, City Council, Finance

Week 2: Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts

Week 3: Development & Business Services, IT

Week 4: Police Department & Municipal Court

Week 5: Public Works & Human Resources
