Boards and Commissions

The City of Lynnwood has several Boards and Commissions that serve in an advisory role to the City Council and City Administration. Most Boards and Commissions require that you live within the Lynnwood City limits or in Lynnwood's Municipal Urban Growth Area, and they generally meet once per month. Application Process

If you are interested in serving on a City Board or Commission, you may submit an application at any time. All applications will be kept on file in the Mayor's Office and applicants will be contacted when there is an opening. The process to become appointed is as follows: 

  1. Attend a meeting of the Board or Commission
  2. Interview with the Staff Liaison and/or the Department Director
  3. Interview with the Mayor's Office
  4. Interview with City Council during a Regular Work Session, and appointed to the Board or Commission at a subsequent Regular Business Meeting.
  5. Applicants must complete a Board and Commission Member Training Module prior to their first meeting with the Board or Commission.

Board and Commission Member Training

All newly appointed Board and Commission Members must complete the following training module prior to your first meeting with the Board or Commission. If you need a workstation to complete the training, please contact Lila Robinson, at executiveoffice@LynnwoodWA.gov or 425-670-5001, to make arrangements. Once you have completed the training module, please complete the Member Training Acknowledgement Form with the link below.
