In 2022, the Lynnwood City Council adopted ORDINANCE 3426(PDF, 552KB) which set the water, sewer and service water rates for 2023-2028.  The new rates will ensure the utility’s fiscal health, meet operational and capital infrastructure needs, and establish an equitable rate structure. Our water and sewer rates continue to remain among the lowest in the region.

Single-Family Residential Rates are shown in the below table. For the full Municipal Code and all Utility Rate Tables, please visit https://lynnwood.municipal.codes/LMC/13.20.010.

If there is a heat-related alert for the City of Lynnwood area, please see the Extreme Heat Utility Shutoff Moratorium section of this page for more information to have your water services reinstated.

Washington State Extreme Heat Utility Shutoff Moratorium

The City of Lynnwood has implemented a new procedure in compliance with The Washington State Extreme Heat Utility Shutoff Moratorium.  This moratorium prevents utility shutoff for nonpayment on any day which a heat-related alert, such as an excessive heat warning, heat advisory, or excessive heat watch is issued. Heat-related alerts are issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). Alerts will be posted to their website; weather.gov. You can also receive these alerts on your mobile phone by downloading the FEMA app and setting up notifications within the app.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU

When the National Weather Service (NWS) issues a heat-related alert water cannot be shut off for residential customers due to nonpayment. Residential customers who are currently shut off for nonpayment may request reinstatement of water services by contacting the City at:

425-670-5170 Monday – Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

425-329-6205 After 5 PM on weekdays and weekends and Holidays

The City of Lynnwood will make every effort to reconnect water service promptly, once requested. Water services will resume being shutoff once the heat-related alert is rescinded or ends unless the amount due on the account is paid in full prior to the expiration of the heat-related alert.

If your water has been scheduled to be shutoff due to nonpayment and you have already received notice of the pending shutoff:

The scheduled shutoff will be delayed until the heat-related alert is rescinded or has expired.
