City of Lynnwood's Response to Monday Night's Public Comment Incident

Published on November 30, 2023

On Monday, the public comment period of our City Council meeting was disrupted by hate-filled speech. As a government entity, we respect the right of community members to express their First Amendment right. However, we will not tolerate speech that infringes on the rights of others. We are taking steps to improve our practices and procedures to address future incidents of this nature moving forward.

Signed,
City of Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell
Council President Shannon Sessions Council
Vice President Julieta Altamirano-Crosby
