204th ST SW Paving

Lynnwood City Council has directed staff to move forward on Alternative 2 - Two Way travel, see below. This choice is from public engagement, coordination with staff, the Edmonds School District, and South County Fire. Construction is currently planned for 2024.

Project Objectives:
  • Pave the gravel segment of 204th St SW.
  • Increase public safety
  • Upgrade street to meet current fire access standards
  • Relocate College Place Elementary parking lot access to 204th St SW.
  • Reduce conflicts between pedestrians walking to school and vehicles.
  • Incorporate an ADA - Compliant pedestrian pathway, completing the present sidewalk.
  • Improve the intersection at 76th Ave W and 204th St SW for safer vehicle and pedestrian travel.
  • Add storm drainage per City code.
  • Discourage illegal parking along 204th St SW.

Pedestrian Improvements

In conjunction with the paving of 204th St SW, pedestrian improvements near the College Place Schools are being designed.

A Pedestrian Crossing will be installed at the intersection of 76th Ave W & 204ht St SW. This crossing will include a full traffic signal with phases for pedestrian-only crossing and upgraded ramps. On 208th St SW, the current mid-block Pedestrian Crossing will be relocated, and a second crossing will be added.
