Tree Voucher Program

Large Maple Tree

Are you interested in free tree vouchers? You are in the right place!

We offer an exciting opportunity for trees to be planted in Lynnwood at no cost to you. You can apply yearly for up to $500 in tree vouchers. A tree voucher is a coupon that can be used to buy almost any type of tree from a participating Washington State Landscape and Nursery Association (WSLNA) nursery.

See how the process works by checking out this video.

Why a Tree Voucher?

There is concern over the loss of trees in Lynnwood. Trees have many important functions. We must keep trees around for future generations. When developers cut down trees, they must put money into this tree fund. Tree vouchers can be used to buy and plant trees anywhere in Lynnwood city limits.

Can I use my vouchers to pay for the delivery of my trees?

No, vouchers may only be used to purchase trees and soils amendments for purchased trees.

What if the nursery doesn’t have the trees I want to purchase?

Vouchers expire one year from the date of issuance. You may either hold on to your vouchers until the nursery has your trees in stock or contact us to switch the tree type.

My vouchers have expired, can I still use them?

No, you must contact us to get new tree vouchers. Using expired vouchers is a violation of the Tree Voucher Program.

I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED TREES, WILL THE CITY PAY ME BACK FOR MY TREES?

No, the City will not pay you back for trees that you have already purchased.

MY TOTAL WITH TAX IS MORE THAN THE AMOUNT OF MY VOUCHERS, WILL THE CITY PAY THE DIFFERENCE?

No, you are responsible to pay the difference if the total is more than what you have in tree vouchers.
