High-speed DUI crash sends three to area hospitals
LYNNWOOD, WA (April 20, 2020) - Just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday a T-bone collision was reported in the 4400 block of Alderwood Mall Boulevard.
Officers immediately responded and were told by witnesses that the driver of a BMW 330 ran a red light while traveling at a high rate of speed on Alderwood Mall Blvd and struck a Toyota Yaris which then struck a Kia Sorento.
The driver of the BMW-- a 22-year-old Everett man-- told officers someone else had been driving and that that person fled on foot after the crash but witnesses said that narrative was false.
A 34-year-old passenger in the Toyota Yaris was taken to Harborview with serious injuries; both the suspect and a 59-year-old passenger in the Kia Sorento were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. The BMW and Yaris were destroyed in the crash.
The suspect is facing DUI, reckless driving, and driving while license suspended charges.
