Padilla Bay, Skagit Valley 🖤🖤

Find out about Skagit Bay wildlife at the Breazeale Padilla Bay Interpretive Center. See what swims down under the Salish Sea with a visit to the remarkable aquariums on-site. Step outside and take the trail that leads from the Center down to Bayview Dike Trail. This level trail allows you to see Padilla Bay Estuary up close. Bring a sack lunch and money for ice cream.

Tommy Thompson Trail 🖤🖤

There are interesting views from this paved path, starting at the marina and continuing across the trestle. It connects the eastern and western shores of Fidalgo Bay. When the tide comes in, there's a shift from shore birds hunting insects to marine mammals looking for fish. After the walk, treat yourself to a sweet ice cream treat in Anacortes. Bring a sack lunch and money for treats.

Sammamish Sampler 🖤🖤

Sammamish is known for their excellent parks, and we'll visit a few of them, starting with Beaver Lake Preserve. The trail loops through forest on the way to Hazel Wolf Wetland, where there's an additional loop. You can spot wildlife such as beavers, birds, and big dragonflies. Lunch will be lakeside at Beaver Lake Park. Next is Big Rock Park, which includes several short loop trails winding around wetlands and meadow. We'll end the day with an ice cream stop (purchases on your own). Bring a sack lunch.

Whatcom Falls Park, Bellingham 🖤🖤🖤🥾

In Bellingham, you'll discover 240 acres to explore at Whatcom Falls Park. There's a lot to see on this visit--the Falls, Whatcom Creek, Derby Pond, Washington State Fish & Wildlife Trout Hatchery, forest trails and extensive grounds. Bring a sack lunch and money for snacks or treats.

Walk and Wine Woodinville 🖤🖤

Perfect for December, this trip combines outside time with inside time. We'll start at Wilmot Gateway Park and walk along the Sammamish River Trail to Woodinville. This is a beautiful, paved path with the river on one side and agricultural fields on the other. In Woodinville, you'll have time to explore, have some lunch, and do a little wine tasting. Food and other purchases on your own.
