Working in teams the VIPS are provided hands on training. Other important training is offered during the VIPS monthly group meetings. VIPS are encouraged to attend the LPD 13-week Community Academy Program held annually each January to round out their law enforcement orientation.

VIPS work generally during the daytime. They conduct perimeter safety checks of residents living in the city limits of Lynnwood who are away. If the VIPS ovserve any suspicious activity the VIPS notify patrol officers. You can sign up for the vacation house check program by clicking here

VIPS also help with a variety of duties in the office such as volunteer program tasks, victim notification letters, Memory Impaired Assistance program, False Alarms Enforcement and special projects.
