The meeting will focus on a Public Hearing on the Critical Areas Regulations Ordinance.
Mountlake Terrace resident and historian Randal Gravelle has written the history of Mountlake Terrace that includes the time before there was a city that straddles I-5 north of Seattle. His talk will discuss how returning WWII vets and the new assembly line process of housing developments evolved into a planned community. Two local developers sought ways to create the most durable and inexpensive house possible for vets. Then a hurled rock changed a housing development in a city. Gravelle’s book “Mountlake Terrace: A History of Four Square Miles” can be purchased on Amazon.
