The City of Lynnwood is planning a new public roadway, Ring Road, with future 38th Ave W and future 194th St SW. This road will go around the Lynnwood Event Center site. The Lynnwood Public Facilities District (LPFD) is proposing a large redevelopment project (Master Plan). The Master Plan is expected to include a mixed-use development with apartments, a hotel, commercial spaces, a parking garage, and an expanded event center. The LPFD Master Plan will be designed by LPFD and its development partners.
The new “Ring Road” will improve mobility through the area. It will include facilities for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles. There will be landscaping to create a more welcoming environment. The project includes a new traffic signal at the intersection of future 194th St SW and existing 36th Ave W. Details can be found in the exhibit attached in Documents in the side bar.
The future 194th St SW supports the long-term vision of extending a roadway between 40th Ave W and 36th Ave W. This will improve access and support growth in the City Center. It will also accommodate significant development at the LPFD site.
The City will also construct essential public utilities. These include water conveyance and stormwater management systems, within the public right-of-way. The ring road will be designed as public right-of-way infrastructure. LPFD will be designing and constructing the Development within the private site.
Design of the ring road is currently underway. The City’s consultant, Perteet and City staff are working in coordination with the LPFD and its design consultants.
