2027 Watermain Project

This project will replace aging water pipelines, primarily older steel mains that are near or past their useful life. These mains require frequent maintenance due to leaks or sudden failures. Some are also undersized and do not meet current or future system needs. Replacing them will help ensure a safe and reliable water supply.

Planned improvements include installing new water mains, valves, fire hydrants, and service connections at locations throughout the City. Roadways at project locations will be restored with full width pavement to upgrade the existing pavement condition.

Multiple high-priority pipeline segments have been identified by the City's Operations and Maintenance staff that comprise more than 10,000 LF of steel watermain. The work will be completed in phases based on priority and available funding and resources. Phase 1 design is expected in 2026, with construction in 2027. Future phases will follow in the upcoming budget biennium. These projects are funded through 412 Utility funds.

The City has selected Otak for the engineering design and preparation of construction-ready plans.
