Marriage Information
Municipal Court Marriages
The Lynnwood Municipal Court Judge and Commissioner are authorized by law to perform marriage ceremonies anywhere in the State of Washington. Weddings are performed at the Lynnwood Municipal Court after 4:30 pm on weekdays, or any time on weekends and holidays. Weddings may also be performed at other locations and times subject to the availability of the Judge. Weddings are by appointment only. Fees are determined by the judicial officer and vary based on the day, time, and location of the ceremony.
Marriage License
Lynnwood Municipal Court does not provide marriage licenses. You may contact the Snohomish County or King County Recorder's Office to obtain your marriage license. The Judge can perform the wedding three days after the date the license is issued, and the license is valid for a 60-day period.
You or the Judge have 30 days from the date of the ceremony to return the Department of Health Certificate of Marriage to the county recording office. They will verify and record the certificate. Once this process is complete, you may request certified copies of your marriage certificate. Certified copies can be used as proof of marriage. Certified copies are not automatically sent to married couples.
Marriage Ceremony
On the day of your ceremony, you will need to bring with you:
- The entire marriage license envelope containing all the documents
- 2 people aged 18 years or older as your witnesses to sign the documents
