Critical Areas Ordinance (CAM-25-0005)

The Lynnwood City Council and Planning Commission will conduct individual public hearings on the below-referenced code amendment. Interested community members are invited to attend this public hearing and to provide comments, either orally or in writing.
Project Description: The City of Lynnwood proposes to amend Title 8 by adopting a new chapter, Chapter 8.10 Critical Areas Regulations which includes adopting best available science regarding Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas and amends LMC Chapters 8.90 and 8.99 updating necessary permit processing procedures. This action will also repeal Chapter 17.10 Environmentally Critical Areas. The draft amendments can be accessed on the City’s land use and notices webpage. The proposal is a citywide non-project action.
Location: This is a Citywide Non-Project Action.
Planning Commission Public Hearing –– July 1, 2026:
The Planning Commission public hearing will be held in-person at City Hall (19100 44th Ave. W, Lynnwood, WA 98036) and virtually via Zoom at 6:30 PM on July 1, 2026. Any interested party may give testimony.
City Council Public Hearing –– July 27, 2026:
The City Council public hearing will be held in-person at City Hall (19100 44th Ave. W, Lynnwood, WA 98036) and virtually via Zoom at 6:00 PM on July 27, 2026. Any interested party may give testimony.
