Whether you are coming for a swim, fitness class, program, camp, or family fun, this page is designed to answer our most frequently asked questions and help you know what to expect before you arrive. The Lynnwood Recreation Center is a public facility and does not require a membership or joining fee — everyone is welcome!

 

 

Are lockers available at the Lynnwood Recreation Center?

Lockers are available for your use during your visit. Bring your own lock, rent for $1, or purchase a lock for $10 (while supplies last).

How old do I have to be to use the facilities at the Lynnwood Recreation Center?

Children under 6 years must be accompanied by an adult in the pools at all times.
All youth under 9 years must be under adult supervision at all times in the Recreation Center.
Youth 13 years and older may enjoy the use of the cardio/weight room with completion of an orientation.

Is parking available at the Recreation Center?

Free, onsite parking is available at the Lynnwood Civic Campus in the following areas: 

  • North of the Recreation Center (shared with the Fire Station)
  • South of the Recreation Center (shared with the Senior Center)
  • SE corner of 188th St SW & 44th Ave W

How much does it cost to visit the Lynnwood Recreation Center?

We offer a variety of fee options from a single visit pass to an annual pass. For the most up-to-date fees click here.

How do I know if I am a Lynnwood resident?

To determine if you are a resident of Lynnwood, click here. Please note, some areas have a Lynnwood address and are NOT Lynnwood residents.

Is the Lynnwood Senior Center Membership included in the Lynnwood Recreation membership?

The Lynnwood Senior Center (LSC) membership is not included in the general Lynnwood Recreation Center membership. 

When does registration open for class and activities?

We offer separate registration dates for recreation programs, swim lessons and LSC programming.

For recreation program registration opens the first Friday in the following months: December for winter session, March for spring session, June for summer session and August for fall session at midnight

For swim lessons registration opens on a Sunday for residents and Monday for non-residents during the following months:

December for winter session, March for spring session, June for summer session, and August for fall session. For exact dates please click here closer to the registration month.

For LSC programming registration opens the first Friday in the following months:

December for winter session, March for spring, June for summer session and September for fall session at midnight

What is the Lynnwood Recreation Center refund policy?

Cancelled Program: If a program is cancelled by the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department, the registrant will receive a credit on account or a full refund. Refund Requests: Refund requests may be made to the department by phone or in person, stating the reason for the request. Participant refund requests are assessed a $10 administrative fee per transaction; there is no administrative fee for credits placed on account. In order to be eligible for a refund requires three (3) business days notice prior to the first class session. Refund requests made after the start of class are subject to program supervisor’s approval and may be granted on a prorated basis. Some trips and courses include pre–ordered tickets and items that are non-refundable.

Can I make same day athletic facility rental reservations?

Same day reservations can only be made at the Meadowdale Athletic Complex. Gym reservations must be made in advance. 

Can I see gym/field availability online? 

Yes, online athletic facility availability can be viewed by going to this link here. The gray boxes that say, "Call to Reserve" are available timeslots.

How do I request a rental reservation?

Athletic Rentals, Room and Pool Rentals, Picnic Shelter Rentals

Do you offer youth softball leagues?

No, we currently only run adult and 55+ leagues.

What is the athletic facility rental fees?

Do I need to register for group fitness class? How do I find the schedule?

Land and Water Group Fitness Class are drop-in only. No registration is required. Group Fitness Schedule Land, Group Fitness Schedule - Water

What is the pool schedule? How do I pre-register for open swims?

Public Swim Schedule, Lap Swim and Open Fitness  

We have moved to pre-registration for our Open and Recreation swims. There is no registration for lap swim or beach swim.

  • Annual pass holders will be guaranteed admission to each Recreation or Open swim. Annual Pass holders do not need to register in advance.
  • Open and Recreation Swim tickets will be available for registration starting on Wednesdays, for the following weeks (Monday - Sunday) swims.
  • You can register by phone, in person, or online.
  • There are no waitlists for any of our swims.
  • If you have a 10-visit card you will need to give us a call to register using your card.

Depending on availability you will be able to register in advance for a swim until 1/2 hour prior to the swim, then if space is available you can drop-in.

 

Does my child meet the qualifications for the Kids Klub Preschool Program?

  • Qualifications:
    • Students must be 4 years old by August 31 of the current school year for Kids Klub PreK or
    • 3 years old by August 31 of the current school year for Ready, Set, Learn
    • Students must be potty trained and easily separate from caregivers.

  • March-August is Early Bird registration for the next school year, cost $45 non-refundable fee to hold your spot until August
