Streets, Pavement and Traffic

42nd Ave W Project

The City Center’s core is the 42nd Avenue West corridor. This is a future street that will provide access and connectivity to future high-rise development.

Connecting Lynnwood: Poplar Way Bridge

Construction of an arterial bridge across I-5 connecting existing intersections of Poplar Way/196th Street SW and 33rd Avenue West/Alderwood Mall Boulevard.

Traffic Signal Rebuild Program

Improvement and restoration of the City's Signal systems.

2018-2022 Paving Program

5 year paving program to balance preservation with replacement of the City streets.

2023-2027 Paving Program

5 year paving program to balance preservation with replacement of the City Streets.

Intersection Improvement - Costco, 33rd Ave W & 30th Pl W

The City is working on solutions to improve traffic around the Costco, north of the Alderwood Mall. The close proximity of the traffic signal at 30th PL W and 33rd Ave W and the traffic signal at Alderwood Mall Pkwy and 33rd Ave W / Maple Rd cause operational issues during high traffic periods.

38th Ave W and 194th Ring Road Project

Construction of 38th Ave W and 194th St SW Ring Road will provide access to the Lynnwood Event Center site that is part of the LPFD Master Plan. The creation of 194th St SW will also support an extension to 40th Ave W in the future.
